The Reasons You'll Want To Read More About Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping and robot vacuum combinations. Multitaskers can be a great option for those who want to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. They have impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to pick if you are looking for a  robot vacuum cleaner  that also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list making it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.

It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs, and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as effective. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a bit more than other robots. This is useful in tight corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger objects such as books and toys that have been damaged.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's easy to install and performs well however it's something you'll need to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a wide range of features.

The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and efficiently. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean which is also relatively fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. These include corners, baseboards, and other difficult-to-access spots. They also come with a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads are able to be washed and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce odors.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction strength and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also decide to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

This device is expensive but it comes with a lot of smart features. It's crucial to keep in mind that it has periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be replaced every one to three months.

This robot vacuum mop has an excellent Amazon rating and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. This includes an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that sends it back to its base station after completing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or just want a cleaner home without spending a lot of time on chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean house with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1  robot vacuum  and mop which means it can handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot comes with two modules: a dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the water tank.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which help to protect specific areas of your home from being swept with mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up pet hair. It was able capture some of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some nice jingles that signalled when it was beginning or finishing its work.

The app was too simple and you had to switch the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app can't hold multiple maps, which could be a hassle when you live in a house with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it comes with some distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock that doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a clean sink as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that let you manually start cleaning and then recall the robot or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will stay clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it is entangled in a blockage, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't work until you untangle it manually. This is a rare event however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad however, the mopping pad isn't washed or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space that is dominated by bulky, boxy units.
